Knowing how to handle and calculate with money is a very important life-skill.

During 2nd grade, children build on their knowledge and skills they have achieved at first grade.

By the time children reach the end of 2nd grade, they should be able to:-

  • use decimal notation for amounts of money, e.g. $3.27
  • change amounts in $ to amounts in ¢ and back;
  • count money up to $10;
  • calculate change for amounts of money up to $10;
  • add and subtract money amounts in $ and ¢
